Small Scale Distribution of LNG

Small-scale LNG distribution is a rapidly evolving field of LNG transportation that is being driven by regulatory mandates limiting emissions and by the abundance and relatively low cost of natural gas.

In response to the need for new infrastructure and modes of transportation for the distribution of LNG in smaller quantities, Argent Marine has developed state-of-the-art LNG AT/Bs* (patents pending) that offer unparalleled flexibility.

Our Bulk AT/Bs:
-have capacities from 4,000-20,000 m3
-feature specialized "boil-off" handling techniques
-have the flexibility to separate propulsion from cargo, enabling a "swap and drop" arrangement

Our Intermodal AT/Bs:
-consist of a marine vessel (powered or unpowered) configured to load a number of interconnected ISO sized tanktainers. The tanktainers can be configured as standard 20 ft., 40 ft., or 45 ft. ISO container sizes. The exact makeup depends on the targeted trade and over-the-road gross vehicle weight limits
-feature 100% tank volumes ranging from roughly 20 m3 to 40 m3 liquid volume. Loaded volume depends on tank pressure rating, insulation effectiveness and desired LNG holding time. For typical tank pressure rating and insulation effectiveness, holding times can vary from 80 days, when loaded to 81% by volume, to 31 days, when loaded to 92% by volume
-containers load simultaneously at a typical LNG terminal in 6-8 hours, like a tanker, before proceeding to a container port where each individual container can be offloaded to truck chassis, railcars or other ships for further transportation, including inland

Argent Marine has entered into an arrangement with Maersk Line, Limited, to develop, promote and implement these AT/Bs.
